RR-ROAD SERVICES
Three services, one truck
Open deck, heavy haul, and the border.
Everything RR Road does comes down to two trailers and one lane. Here is what each service is for — and how to tell which one your load needs.
01 · Step deck
Step deck trucking
Our 53 ft low-pro step deck carries the freight that is too tall for a flatbed and too awkward for a van — loaded by forklift or crane from the side, the back or straight down from above.
- Farm tractors, implements and Central Valley ag equipment
- Skid steers, compact excavators and forklifts
- Industrial machinery and parts on skids
- Steel beams, pipe, rebar and structural members
02 · RGN lowboy
RGN & lowboy heavy haul
A removable-gooseneck lowboy for the heavy and the tall: the neck comes off, the deck becomes a ramp, your equipment drives on — and rides in a well barely off the road.
- Excavators and track hoes
- Dozers, wheel loaders and backhoes
- Large tractors and ag equipment
- Generators, compressors and industrial units
03 · Cross-border
Cross-border trucking, US ↔ Canada
Our main run is Los Angeles to Toronto and back. Open-deck freight crosses the border on the same truck, with the paperwork lined up before it leaves the yard.
- Machinery and equipment moving between California and Ontario
- Step deck freight — machinery, steel, building materials — crossing either way
- Heavy equipment on the RGN, including permitted oversize loads
- One-off moves and repeat lanes alike
Choosing
The short version.
Lifted on and under about ten feet: step deck. Driven on, or taller: RGN. Crossing the border: either one, with the paperwork planned.
| Excavators, dozers, loaders — anything that drives on | RGN lowboy The gooseneck comes off and the deck becomes a ramp. No crane, no dock. |
|---|---|
| Machinery taller than about 10 ft | RGN lowboy The low well leaves roughly 11½–12 ft of legal height. |
| Farm tractors and implements | Either trailer Depends on the height and how it loads. Send the model and we will say which. |
| Machinery on skids, crated equipment | Step deck Forklift or crane from any side, about 10 ft of legal height on the main deck. |
| Steel, pipe, lumber, building materials | Step deck Long, flat and loaded from the side. |
| Wider than 8 ft 6 in | RGN lowboy Oversize — it needs a permit from every state and province on the route. |
